David Magee’s Schools Talk

David Magee on America’s Student Mental Health & Substance Misuse Crisis

In 2013, David Magee's oldest son, William, lost his life to an accidental drug overdose. In the years since, David has dedicated his life to sharing the Magee family's story and raising awareness about not only the dangers of substance misuse but the real possibility for recovery and joy. He has spoken with countless people seeking solutions for the crises teens face today.

This video is the talk, entitled "Things Have Changed," which David has given to so many K-12 and college students, parents, educators and other groups across the country. David's talk begins with his and his family's personal story, but covers the wide range of challenges teens face today—anxiety, depression, addiction, eating disorders, loneliness, social media and more—with an eye toward solutions, hope and joy. It is available for your personal viewing, or for use in educational settings, such as schools, churches or student groups.
