Meagen Rosenthal, Ph.D.

Interim Executive Director

Meagen Rosenthal, PhD, is an accomplished researcher and leader in community wellbeing and engagement, with more than 15 years of experience collaborating with communities and researchers as they work towards common goals. Dr. Rosenthal earned a Master of Arts in Sociology and completed her PhD in Experimental Medicine at the University of Alberta, Canada.

She joined the faculty in the School of Pharmacy at the University of Mississippi (UM) in 2014 and holds the rank of associate professor in the Department of Pharmacy Administration. She leads UM’s Community Wellbeing Flagship Constellation Initiative and later co-created the Community First Research Center for Wellbeing and Creative Achievement (CREW). With UM CREW, she works with community stakeholders to create, access, analyze and apply knowledge and data to improve community wellbeing and decision-making.

Dr. Rosenthal utilizes this same set of skills now as the interim executive director of the William Magee Institute, working with stakeholders to ensure it meets the needs of Mississippi and beyond.
